Meraki explores the paradox between purity and suffering. The series emerged from the idea that the more a person strives toward purity, the more suffering they may be made to endure. Through repeated images of the crucifix, altered across different materials, colors, and compositions, the works approach suffering not only as pain, but as something intertwined with transformation, sacrifice, and the pursuit of purity.
