Butterflies or I Die is a series of works created in 2018, in which preserved butterflies are suspended in resin alongside found objects and materials. The series explores the tension between preservation and death: the attempt to hold onto something fragile and beautiful also fixes it permanently in a state of stillness.
The works reflect on beauty, mortality, and the desire to preserve what is inevitably temporary. Encased in resin, the butterflies remain visually present while no longer belonging to the living world.
The works from this series have been sold and are now held in private collections.
