Al-Khawfa (The Fear) begins with a fear: the fear of ideas that become so successful that they disappear as ideas, turning into truth, logic, and common sense. The work examines what remains “natural” within us, and how occupation and settler colonialism can inhabit memory, language, fear, and the body, becoming almost invisible once their effects are accepted as natural.
